Welcome

Returning after a four-year hiatus, our flagship, one-day International Robotics Showcase was back for 2023 on the theme of: “The Future of Robotics and Autonomous Systems”.

The International Robotics Showcase was a one-day event that attracted insights and attendance from members of the UK-RAS Network, industry, academia, government, policy and public funding bodies and featured an exciting variety of sessions aimed at exploring what the future of Robotics and Autonomous Systems holds for the community and beyond!

We would like thank everyone who participated in our event and contributed to its success. Key stats for the International Robotics Showcase included:

• ~200 attendees
• 1 Keynote, near-future science fiction author
• 1 Discussion panel, 5 panellists drawn from industry, academia, founders, funders and science fiction
• 1 Live illustration, 2 illustrations for the keynote and discussion panel
• 22 exhibitors and demos
• 18 posters accepted, 6 additional posters displayed in the demo areas
• 2 Bristol Laboratory Tours
• 2 White paper launches
• 3 Parallel sessions, 9 speakers on the future of robot applications, brains and bodies
• 1 Fireside chat with a science fiction author and Women in Robotic leadership team member
• 4 Network award winners, 2 early career award winners, 1 community award winner, 1 impact award winner.
