Robotics Summer Showcase 2022

Following on from a successful launch in 2021, the UK-RAS Network Robotics Summer Showcase will take place this year in June. This 1-month programme of online and in-person events across the UK aims to engage the RAS community in academia and industry to create meaningful connections and foster collaboration.

Call for Events

We are seeking academia- and industry-focussed events from UK-RAS Network members for inclusion in the official Robotics Summer Showcase Programme of Events. The programme will include events running online or in person during the month of June 2022.

We would love to promote any existing or new events you would like to run as part of the Robotics Summer Showcase. If you would like to us to include your event in our press release please submit by the deadline, otherwise events can be submitted for inclusion in our events list at any time.

Examples of events: networking events, workshops, robotics challenges, focus groups, industry days, digital exhibitions. We also welcome proposals for novel event types not listed above.

Benefits

Official Robotics Summer Showcase events will receive:

1. Dedicated promotion from the UK-RAS Network, including:
   • a national press-release;
   • the UK-RAS website;
   • the UK-RAS email newsletter;
   • UK-RAS social media accounts;
   • the UK-RAS EventBrite page (optional).
     
2. Use of Robotics Summer Showcase branding and graphics.
3. In-kind contributions for specific enabling items (see Terms and Conditions).

Event Criteria

To be considered for the official events programme, an event must:

• meet at least one of the following aims:
  • offer Network members the opportunity to showcase their research to other academics in the UK;
  • offer Network members the opportunity to raise their profile with UK industry, government or other stakeholders;
  • engage academics and industry in networking and / or recruitment activities;
  • increase the visibility amongst the RAS community (academia and industry) of early career researchers within the Network.
• have a clearly defined audience (e.g. early career robotics researchers);
• occur between the 1^st and the 30^th June 2022.

Organising a public event?

Within the Summer Showcase Programme, a 7-day UK Festival of Robotics will run from the 18^th – 24^th June, with a focus on public-facing events that raise awareness about the latest developments in robotics and autonomous systems.
