Big Robot for Little Surgery

The Hamlyn Centre will present the Da Vinci Robot and describe how researchers use it to develop tomorrow’s surgery. The Da Vinci robot is 2m tall robot with 3 arms capable, when controlled by a skilled surgeon, to perform extremely precise surgery directly inside a patient. The researcher will demonstrate how the robots is operated, show a close look on its specific capabilities, and discuss how researcher are using it to develop what will be the role of robots in the operating room of the future. Our team of PhD student will be here to answer your question on medical robotics and robotic assisted surgery.
